South Suburban Commuter Feasibility Study - Final Report (PDF Version 2.8 MB) - The Phase I Feasibility Study examined all rail routes that could be used to offer commuter rail service from the south suburbs to downtown Chicago. The Study recommended further evaluation of four potential commuter route alignments. This report preceded the Alternatives Analysis process. April 1999
South Suburban Commuter Rail Feasibility Study Phase 1A (PDF Version 9.9 MB) - The Phase 1A Study is a follow-up to the Phase I Feasibility Study which examined two proposed connections between the potential SouthEast Service commuter rail line and Metra's Rock Island District. The Phase 1A Study also provided a preliminary environmental assessment of four key locations on the various rail alignments proposed. This report preceded the Alternatives Analysis process.
